The raven

An excellent early study of Poe's masterpiece from a literary rather than a psychological point of view. The author discusses ""the most popular lyric poem in the world"" in terms of the creative genesis of the poem and the history of the poem. Mr. Ingram presents translations that were made into French, German, Hungarian and Latin, a number of fabrications that were published, and some of the many parodies to which the poem gave rise. Incudes a bibliography of the early publishing history of the poem.
