Catherine Spencer considered being a nun, nurse or veterinarian before she finally settled on being an English teacher. With a history of bossing her younger sister around, this career choice was a perfect fit. After marrying her husband and having four children, Spencer's self-described "middle-aged restlessness" set in and she began to look for another career.
