About this book

Meredith planned to talk to her landlord. — She hadn't planned on his taking her by surprise like this. Just when her life seemed to be regaining its equilibrium, Mr. High-and-Mighty Tom Whitney, successful divorce lawyer, had to bounce into town and turn it upside down. — How dared he evict the elderly tenants -- her family? Well, she would show him that Meredith Blake was a fighter. She could see the front page of the local newspaper, "Absentee Landlord Whitney Evicts Elderly Tenants." Why didn't she feel more satisfied by that fantasy?

About Unknown Author

Catherine Spencer considered being a nun, nurse or veterinarian before she finally settled on being an English teacher. With a history of bossing her younger sister around, this career choice was a perfect fit. After marrying her husband and having four children, Spencer's self-described "middle-aged restlessness" set in and she began to look for another career. Teaching English for years helped Spencer to realize that her knowledge lay in novels, specifically romance novels. Spencer now writes for Harlequin Presents. She was the first Presents author to become a Romance Writers of America RITA finalist. Spencer was also featured on the Harlequin Goes Prime Time television special as well as doing promotions during Harlequin's 50th anniversary celebrations across Canada.
