About this book

Comedy fantasy series with a Pratchetteque/Carry On Blackadder twist, but written for children. A slightly more sophisticated read than the Lost Diaries, with a bit more edge.

The Dark Forest is a world. Cities, towns and villages exist like islands in a green sea, while in the Forest itself live hermits, wizards and all manner of weird and wonderful creatures - some invented, some strangely familiar.

BOOK 1: GOODKNYGHTThe story of Will, swineherd and whipping-boy to the ghastly Symon, who constantly reminds him of the awful time he's going to have when he accompanies Symon to Knyghtschool. Fate lends a hand, when Will instead finds himself on a quest with the mysterious Rune-master, to recover the lost treasure of the Dark Forest - a quest which is far more dangerous! Involving a Runemaster and a lost treasure... (Oh yes, and sometimes he has to wear a dress, too.)

Be amused. Be very amused...

About Unknown Author

Steve Skidmore is shorter than Steve Barlow and less hairy. He was born in Birstall, near Leicester in England. After managing to pass some exams at school, he went on to Nottingham University to read English, but spent most of his time playing sport and doing a variety of summer jobs including counting pastry pie lids (yes, really). He trained as a teacher of Drama, English and Film studies and taught in several schools and colleges before teaming up with Steve Barlow to become a full time author. He lives in Leicester and is a great rugby fan (he supports Leicester Tigers - "Come on you Tiiiiigeeeers!"). http://www.the2steves.net/biography.aspx
