About this book
This publication is a written hiking journal that explores the lesser-traveled but intriguing area of ridges and creeks flowing in a network of hollows that form Pennsylvania's Sinnemahoning Valley watershed. The layout of trails in this book generally starts in the northern headwaters, known as runs, and continues south toward the terminus of the Sinnemahoning Creek into the West Branch Susquehanna River. These hikes set foot in three state forests (Susquehannock, Elk, and Sproul) spanning three different counties (Potter, Cameron, and Clinton). This book introduces the hiking trails and provides a brief description of the way to be followed. The hiking information in this book includes a general description of the trails and observations made by the Authors while hiking on the trails. The Authors have tried to describe the trails as accurately as possible. This book adds a good measure of local history, folklore, and storytelling about this neck of the woods in north-central Pennsylvania.
