Max Hoste has known struggle since the day he acquired his black skill, Consume. Now with a friend kidnapped, he and the rest of his party must find a way to save Cordellia before something happens to her. Making things harder is that Bob, his black skill, has vanished, locked away somewhere since they overrode the tower and brought Rakonath into it. With all these problems about to come to a head, the truth is things are going to get much harder.
