Savanna St. James escaped a dark childhood and left home before she graduated high school. She became a registered nurse and joined the Air Force. As fate would have it, she bonds with a soldier , Cash Hollingsworth, who was wounded and sent to her hospital in Germany. Years later, they reconnect and she is given guardianship of his twelve year old daughter when he is killed.
