Fabienne Nothomb, dite Amélie Nothomb, est une romancière belge de langue française née le 9 juillet 1966 à Etterbeek. Autrice prolifique, elle publie un ouvrage par an depuis 1992, année de publication de son premier roman, *Hygiène de l'assassin.* Ses romans font partie, chaque année, des meilleures ventes littéraires et certains sont traduits en plusieurs langues. Elle a obtenu de très nombreux prix littéraires, dont le prix littéraire de la vocation (1993), le grand prix du roman de l'Académie française (1999) et le prix Renaudot (2021) . Her novels consistently rank among the bestsellers, and some have been translated into several languages. She has received numerous literary awards, including the Prix Littéraire de la Vocation (1993), the Grand Prix du Roman of the Académie Française (1999), and the Prix Renaudot (2021). This success has earned her a royal decree granting her the honorary title of Commander of the Order of the Crown, and, on the recommendation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, King Philippe has proposed that she be granted the personal title of Baroness.
