About this book
He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.
At a lover’s crossroad, Catherine Earnshaw must choose between her love for her childhood friend, yet proletariat, Heathcliff and her love for the genteel Edgar Linton. Seduced by the easy life, she chooses Edgar to preserve her position of class in society. Heathcliff, however, always believed Catherine, body and soul, belonged with him, and her choice to marry another man produces an obsessive, unbridled violence of the mind and body as he will stop at nothing to regain, or perhaps avenge, what he believes was unjustly taken from him.
A multi-generational story following Heathcliff from a young man to old age, Wuthering Heights is largely mistaken for a classic romance novel, but this is no saccharine love story to cozy up with near a fire. This is a dark and grim story of an accursed man who revolts against a fate he cannot accept.
