Javier Marías Franco (Madrid, 20 de septiembre de 1951-Madrid, 11 de septiembre de 2022) fue un escritor, traductor y editor español, miembro de número de la Real Academia Española desde 2008 hasta su fallecimiento. Su obra *Corazón tan blanco* (1992), en la que se mezclan novela y ensayo, tuvo un gran éxito tanto de público como de crítica, fue traducida a decenas de lenguas, se convirtió en uno de los puntos de referencia del denominado hibridismo genérico, y supuso su consagración como escritor. Su siguiente novela, *Mañana en la batalla piensa en mí* (1994), recibió importantes premios en Europa y América, incluyendo el Premio Rómulo Gallegos (la primera vez que este galardón se otorgó a un español) y el Premio Fastenrath, de la Real Academia Española. ---------- Javier Marías Franco (Madrid, September 20, 1951 - Madrid, September 11, 2022) was a Spanish writer, translator, and editor, a full member of the Royal Spanish Academy from 2008 until his death. His work *Corazón tan blanco* (1992), a blend of novel and essay, was a huge success with both the public and critics, was translated into dozens of languages, became one of the reference points of so-called generic hybridism, and marked his consecration as a writer. His next novel, *Mañana en la batalla piensa en mí* (1994), received important awards in Europe and America, including the Rómulo Gallegos Prize (the first time this award was given to a Spaniard) and the Fastenrath Prize from the Royal Spanish Academy.
