Diary of a Nobody

George Grossmith was a bright comic actor, an author and performer of rather popular at his time sketches and songs, an author of many musical comedies' scenarios. His younger brother, Weedon Grossmith was a talented cartoonist, playwright and actor. The brothers had rather happy artistic life. But they owe their world popularity to The Diary of a Nobody that was published in 1892 and was filled with witty illustrations by Mr. Weedon Grossmith. The Diary joined the world literature lists long time ago, needless to say the best examples of the English humoristic prose. According to some critics, this book preceded our favourite books by Jerome K. Jerome and P.G. Wodehouse.
