Mage

"This second Mage series continues the adventures of the reluctant hero, Kevin Matchstick. Under his superhuman role as the reborn Pendragon, Kevin leads a nomadic existence, traveling from place to place and seeking to purge our world of the supernatural horrors that infest the back allies and dark corners of a reality that is woefully unaware of their existence. Along the way, he gathers a cadre of comrades who not only seem to share his goals, but also his mythic origins as well. From the blustery strength of the Olympian, Kirby Hero, to the wily velocity of the Coyote, Joe Phat, Kevin soon finds himself the de facto leader of a group of unsung champions to whom humanity owes more than it realizes. As he wrestles with the responsibilities of such a stewardship, Kevin must learn to deal with not only the ever-changing threat from the world beyond our world, but also the shortcomings of his own presumptions and arrogance."--Inside cover flap
