Rebellion will be their salvation or their doom. Long ago, the Cyberat faction left Earth to co-evolve with machines. Now, led by the powerful dictator Castron on a distant colony world, they believe machines should replace the physical body. But these beliefs are challenged when emissaries from Earth's Polity civilization arrive, igniting rebellion. Piper was raised as a covert weapon against the Cyberat, implanted with illicit hardware. And so, when his parents are incarcerated, the Polity offers protection. Piper knows that the Polity wants to use him in its war against the alien prador. But what choice does he have? Piper battles with the technology within him as unrest sweeps his planet and conflict threatens. Will he swap old tyrants for new masters? Or can he seize control of his own destiny?
