The action scenes are insane “he grabbed a boy by the leg and used him as a club”. First book in a long while that I yearn to reread immediately. Couldn’t put this down, the story the drama the trust the overcoming the strategy fighting the good fight, of course a FC by his side several times to encourage humane behavior, loved all of the fight scenes and mistakes made and lessons learned and leadership showcased. Excellent depiction of how to establish a community that is intrinsically motivated but loyal the their leader and the cause. The death at the start is so beautifully carried forward, thinking of this 16 year old boy experiencing such harrowing atrocities amid discovery of the truth of his world and having such a monumental shift in his life was so powerful.
