<p>In <a href="https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/w-e-b-du-bois/the-souls-of-black-folk"><i>The Souls of Black Folk</i></a> the sociologist <a href="https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/w-e-b-du-bois">W. E. B.
