Mary is a quiet, middle-aged woman doing her best to blend into the background. Unremarkable. Invisible. Unknown even to herself.
But lately, things have been changing inside Mary. Along with the hot flashes and body aches, she can’t look in a mirror without passing out, and the voices in her head have been urging her to do unspeakable things.
Fired from her job in New York, she moves back to her hometown, hoping to reconnect with her past and inner self. Instead, visions of terrifying, mutilated specters overwhelm her with increasing regularity and she begins auto-writing strange thoughts and phrases. Mary discovers that these experiences are echoes of an infamous serial killer.
Then the killings begin again.
Mary’s definitely going to find herself.

I did not finish this book. I saw this book and I really wanted to read it. My friend picked it up and she gave me a good review of this one so I decided too read it since it was on KU. I got to page 144 and decided that I will not be able to finish this book. It’s just too boring and the main character is just annoying. I don’t care for the writing style and the point of this book is what? Idk. I usually don’t have an issue with male authors writing from the woman’s pov but this just wasn’t good. I’m not sure how everyone is giving this book so many flowers because I’m only giving it one star because I can’t give it zero! I feel like I’ve wasted my time reading this.
