About this book
"Hapgood" is a play by Tom Stoppard that intertwines elements of espionage, identity, and personal relationships within the context of British intelligence.
The story opens in a London swimming pool's changing room, where Elizabeth Hapgood, a British intelligence officer, navigates a web of intrigue involving Russian agents and double agents, including Joseph Kerner, a Russian-born physicist. As the narrative unfolds, themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the complexities of personal connections emerge, particularly through Hapgood's relationships with her son and the men in her life.

Sir Tom Stoppard (born Tomáš Sträussler) was a Czech and English playwright and screenwriter. He wrote for film, radio, stage, and television, finding prominence with plays.
