Women of the Fur Trade, Second Edition

This new edition includes a study guide directed to high-school classrooms wishing to work with the text. Since the publication of the first edition in 2022, the play has had hit productions at the Stratford Festival, the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, and an upcoming production with Native Earth Performing Arts in Toronto. Frances noticed a lack of historical documentation of women's roles and lives during the Fur Trade—the play reflects the male gaze at gender, race, identity, and more.
