A Visit from Sir Nicholas

The Effingtons return as Lady Elizabeth Effington discovers that both the memory of Christmas past and the reality of Christmas present can lead to a bright Christmas future. It's been 10 years since Nicholas Collingsworth told her it was best to forget him and marry his best friend. Now Lizzie is a widow with two sons and happy to be independent. Then she learns that Nick is in charge of her finances. Nick doesn't want to run Lizzie's life, he just wants to be in it. But the strong-willed and highly capable Lizzie wants nothing to do with marriage. She does, however, want Nick. How he woos, pursues, blackmails and lures Lizzie into his bed is one thing, but getting her to say "I do" is another.
